How many times have you gotten your blood taken and the nurse had to literally stab you multiple times?
Whoever is taking your blood is trying to find a vein to tap in order to extract the blood circulating throughout your body.
Some veins are quite large and near the skin, so you can see them and easily target them with a needle. That’s not the case for most veins nor people. So, what if you could see through the skin?
This amazing new technology let’s you do just that.
It made us go “woah”. Check it out below
As you can see in the video, this “vein finder” casts an image on the skin that reveals the veins underneath it.
This works with a laser that is reacting to the hemoglobin (a protein responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood). Where there are veins, there is hemoglobin, where there aren’t veins there is much less hemoglobin. So, you get a contrast in the image that lets you know where the veins are!
This easy to use vein detection device has been shown to improve first stick success by 92%.
